Life is Good Today

If you listen to country music you know that this the main idea of a Zac Brown Band song called "Toes." When it was first released it had a word in it that some fans did not feel was appropriate so they asked him to change it, so he did. He made a choice, now it is a #1 hit. The radio stations will occasionally play the first cut, they make a choice.

Is'nt that how life is. We can wake up everyday and our first thought be, "life is good today" or it can be, "ughh its Mon., I feel tired, have to go to work," etc. It is a choice we make every day. If we really stop and think about it most of us can really say, "life is good today!" There are so many people in our world today that, that does not hold true for.

When we choose the "life is good today" we are more apt to see God's blessings. Life is short, choose not to miss them. Last Sun our pastor used the scripture from the Sermon on the Mount ... "we are to love our enemies, those that are against us, those that have hurt us," etc. After having us write the names of a few of those people and laying them at the foot of the cross he challanged us to pray for them. Easier said than done sometimes. I try to do that everday, and you know what? It hasn't changed a single one of them yet, but it has changed my heart for them. I get to choose. It is 2 in the morning and I had a choice, stay in my warm cozy bed next to my husband and go back to sleep or get up and put what God laid on my heart down in black & white so I would not forget. I had a choice. Well, life is good today and I am going to go spend a few more hours of it getting some much needed sleep.

May you have a "life is good today," day every day!

Seriously, Busyness Does Not Equal Success

I know I stole that line from my hubby but seriously he did not know what kind of day I was going to have today, when he wrote that yesterday. I had been waiting, patiently, well not so much, for an order of beads to come in so I could finish a big order and get it shipped out today. When I arrived at the shop I could not find the order. After searching everywhere I decided I must have accidently thrown it in the trash. Today is "trash day" so I headed out to start digging in the trash in this lovely rainy weather. I really do love the rain....just not while digging in the trash. All that for nothing! Still no order! The only thing left to do is to sit still, (thats a tough one for me), and try to remember the customer, the conversation and the order. You know God instructs us to "Be still and know that I am God." He is so awesome when we listen... oh , He is so awesome all the time, it is up to us to recognize it. So you see being busy is not always successful, but listening to God always is. Now the order is finished, packaged and ready to ship. Speaking of shipping, we have the best UPS guy ever! He goes above and beyond to take care of us. It is so cool to see someone take pride in their job and truly care about their customers. I believe that is another instruction from God, to love one another. I better go before you get confused about who the preacher in this family really is..ha.

Amazing Weekend

My husband and I just had the most amazing weekend in San Antonio, Texas. We met some wonderful new people that we already want to call friends. Thanks to each and every one of you.
